Mode of Action:
  1. Spore Germination and Hyphae Growth: Paecilomyces Lilacinus spores contact nematode eggs, juveniles, or adult females, germinating and growing fungal threads towards the nematodes.
  2. Appressoria Formation: Specialized structures, appressoria, form at the hyphae tips, anchoring the fungus to the nematode's body.
  3. Enzyme Secretion: The fungus secretes enzymes that degrade proteins in the nematode's cuticle and cell wall, creating entry points.
  4. Nutrient Absorption and Colonization: The fungus penetrates the nematode's body cavity, absorbing nutrients and weakening it until death.
  5. Reproduction: Within the dead nematode, Paecilomyces Lilacinus produces new spores to infect other nematodes in the soil.
 
Dosage and Application:
  • For Domestic Use: 5 - 10 ml per liter
  • Soil Application: 1 - 2 liters per acre
